Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), your personal data is processed by Arkhon Law Office (Zeytinlik Mah. Yakut Sk. No: 32/3 Bakırköy / Istanbul), acting as data controller, as described below.
Personal Data We Process
If you contact us through our website, we may process your name, e-mail address, telephone number and the content of your message and — through the KVKK compliance form — company and contact-person details and any documents you choose to share. When you visit our website, technical data strictly necessary for the site to function securely and correctly (IP address, browser information, theme and language preference) is processed.
Purposes and Legal Bases
Your personal data is processed in order to assess and respond to your enquiry, conduct preliminary discussions with a view to establishing a lawyer–client relationship, prepare proposals, comply with our legal obligations and keep our website secure, on the legal bases set out in Article 5(2)(c) (necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract), Article 5(2)(ç) (compliance with a legal obligation) and Article 5(2)(f) (legitimate interests) of the KVKK.
How We Collect Data
Your personal data is collected electronically, partly by automated means, through the forms on our website, by e-mail, by telephone and through the technical infrastructure of the website.
Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred, solely for the purposes above and in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, to public authorities legally entitled to receive it and to the service providers that host our website, database and e-mail services. As these providers’ servers may be located outside Türkiye, transfers abroad are carried out within the conditions laid down in Article 9 of the KVKK (an adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, or the exceptional cases provided for by law).
Retention
Your personal data is kept for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the limitation periods prescribed by law, after which it is erased, destroyed or anonymised.
Your Rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed; to request information about such processing; to learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used accordingly; to know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom data is transferred; to request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data; to request erasure or destruction of data under the conditions of Article 7 and notification of such actions to third parties to whom data was transferred; to object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You may submit requests concerning your rights in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Applications to the Data Controller, either in writing to our address above together with documents proving your identity, or by e-mail to info@arkhonlawoffice.com from an e-mail address you have previously notified to us and which is registered in our records. Your request will be concluded free of charge within thirty days at the latest, depending on its nature.
